Data stays on your device
Fold by Fold does not collect or transmit counts, session history, settings, or identifiers to the developer. The app has no account, ads, analytics SDK, or tracking.
The app stores your fold total, daily counts, opening/closing action times, completed session timestamps, pending session, setup progress, selected theme, optional goals, and local notification preferences on your device. Its app and widgets share local data through an Apple App Group. Corrections, migration, and restores can keep local recovery copies.
Shortcuts, widgets, and notifications
You manually connect Record a Fold to the Opened trigger and optionally Record a Close to a separate Closed trigger in Apple Shortcuts. These actions update local data without sending it to the developer. iOS controls execution and widget refresh timing. Optional milestone and goal notifications are local, and permission is requested only when you enable alerts.
Exports and backups
You may export daily history as CSV or save a JSON backup of count and session history. Exported files can contain activity timestamps. If you save or share them using Files, iCloud Drive, email, or another provider, those services handle the files under their own privacy policies. The developer does not automatically receive them.
Your control
History begins when recording starts. Earlier openings or session durations cannot be recovered. You can correct daily counts and restore saved history. Restoring saves a local recovery copy first. Deleting the app and its data can remove stored history; system backups are managed by Apple and your settings.
